Harvest Festival 2019

On Thursday 10th October the children from St John's School took part in their annual Harvest Festival at St John's Church, giving thanks to God for all that he has given. We presented our banner and Miss Donnelly opened the service welcoming everyone. Then the whole school sang 'It's Harvest Time'.

The Singing Stars group performed for the first time singing 'Harvest'. They sang very confidently and were full of smiles.

Sing Up Club sang a beautiful song called 'Let's Harvest' and then sang a very thought provoking song called 'In the Bin' which was about the amount of food that we waste as a society. Year 6 children spoke about Harrow Food Bank and the good work they do in helping others who don't have food.

Year 3 and 4 children led us in prayers of thankfulness for everything we have.

We finished the service with the whole school singing 'Beautiful World' and then Johny gave a final blessing.

Year 1 and 2 wrote some fantastic Harvest poems and read beautifully. They also sang 'Cauliflowers Fluffy'. Children from year 5 read beautifully from the Bible and the whole of Upper School sang a lively song called 'Harvest Samba'.

We also presented food boxes at the Church to represent the food we had collected as a school for the food bank.
