St John’s Orchestra club meet every Wednesday in the US hall for an hour after school. Last year the children took part in the ‘World Festival’, an event organised by Harrow Music Service. It was the first time St John’s was involved in this event and the children worked hard to prepare for it. It was an ‘eclectic performance of music from around the world, featuring music from countries such as Africa, Eastern Europe, Ireland, India and Pakistan’. All schools taking part performed a selection of music from their chosen country for a short period of time.
Our country was South America and the photos above show the children practicing the music they performed on the night with Ms Bennett-Goodman conducting.
