Harvest Festival 2019
Our Harvest Festival was held at St John’s. Miss Donnelly began by welcoming our school banner which was lead in by two of our year 6 pupils.
The children in year 5 read from the Bible and our Reception pupils sang “What do we do at Harvest time?” and “Big Red Combine Harvester”. There were also some lovely Harvest poems from years 1 and 2.
Sing Up Club sang the first of their songs “ It was great to hear so many wonderful voices from KS1 singing one of our favourite Harvest songs, 'Cauliflower's Fluffy'. KS2 also sang a beautiful version of the “Harvest song”.
Year 6 reminded us about where our food items were being donated to - Harrow Foodbank. They talked about the important work that the foodbank does to feed so many people. Sing Up also sang a song called 'In the Bin' which reminded everyone about how much food we often waste and throw away.
Children from years 3 and 4 read some prayers about Harvest, reminding us to be thankful for all that we have.
During our last song we presented a small token of what the school had collected for Harrow Foodbank.
Rev. Jonny Rapson finished the service with a blessing.
