Year 6 Leaver's Service at St John's 2018
On the last day of term, the whole school walked down the hill to St John's Church to celebrate a fantastic year that we had all had and to say goodbye to the Year 6 children and some members of staff that were moving on.
We started the service by presenting our schools banner, which had been made by two of the year 6 children.
Lighting of the Year 6 candle
Every year we light a special candle during the leaver's service to help us to think of the children moving on to their secondary schools. This candle is then lit again on the first day back in September as a focus of our prayer when we remember those children again.
Sing Up Club performed beautifully again as they sang a song called "Believe". The song spoke about being able to achieve anything you want to if you just believe.
Singing Stars (the Infant Choir) sang "The Sun will come out tomorrow" from the musical Annie. They did a fantastic job!
Memories were shared from pupils about their time at St John's.

Year 6 Awards
Special awards were also given to seven year 6 children. These awards are given for various reasons and recognise those who either excelled in a certain area, or showed exceptional dedication or commitment throughout their time at St John's.
