St John’s Church of England School
Family-School Partnership
‘I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength’
Philippians 4:13
St John’s Church of England School believes that parents play a vital role in their child’s education. When parents are engaged and involved, everyone benefits – students, parents, families, teachers, schools and communities.
We have received the Family-School Partnership Award in recognition of our strong links between the home and school learning environments and the opportunities we provide for parents to receive information, to develop their own skills and to support their children.
Each year, we provide opportunities covering a range of topics such as Phonics, Reading, Writing, Maths, Speech & Language Development, Supporting Transition, Health & Nutrition, Parenting Top Tips, employment Skills and more!
All parents are warmly invited to attend Workshops, Courses and Coffee Afternoons where they can meet other parents and receive information. Many of these are being provided virtually on-line.
Please look out for topics and dates in school newsletters, on our website or via parent emails.
If you would like any further information, please contact Mrs Hall, Family-School Partnership Lead, via the School Office.
Parent Consultation on New and Revised Policies
Please see below a letter to parents and carers as well as three recently developed or reviewed policies to provide you with the opportunity to be part of the consulation process.

Parent and Staff
Welcome Ambassadors and Translation Helpers
Here at St John’s we have designated members of Staff whose role is to welcome new families to our School. Our Staff Welcome Ambassadors will arrange to meet you and provide you with New Arrivals Information Packs for you and your child.
Staff Welcome Ambassadors: Mrs Andrawos and Mrs Wallimohamed
We also have many parents who have kindly volunteered as:
Parent Welcome Ambassadors
To help welcome new families joining their child’s class by being a friendly face in the playground, introducing you to other parents in your child’s class and helping you to get to know the school.
Translation Helpers
To help you to understand letters you receive from school or help you to ask for or receive information from your child’s teacher or the School Office.
If you would like the support of any of these volunteers, please ask your child’s Teacher or contact our Staff Welcome Ambassadors or Mrs Hall who will be pleased to assist you.
Would you like to volunteer?
If you are a new or existing parent and would like to volunteer to help other parents as a Welcome Ambassador or a Translation Helper, please leave your name, language spoken and contact details with Mrs Hall via the School Office
or email to: office@stjohns.harrow.sch.uk for the attention of Mrs Hall.
Please see below for a list of our Parent Welcom Ambassadors & Translation Helpers.
