St John's Church of England School

To raise money for the charity the children had a mufti day at school and brought in a £1. Altogether St John's raised £352 for sign2sing.

St John's hosted their first ever sign2sing assembly on Friday.  We were honoured to have Karissa and Marissa's mummy, who is deaf, visit us as our special guest.  First Mrs Ogunniyi explained some information about the charity "sign2sing" and then we asked Karissa's mummy some questions about what life was like being deaf. Karissa did an amazing job signing our questions to her mum and then explaining her mums answers back to us. The children sat motionless whilst watching Karissa and her mum signing. Finally, the children had been busy learning to sing and sign a special song written to raise awareness of this special charity and they performed this beautifully.
