Music Junction with LCO
Twelve of St John's children from years 4-6 were chosen for a special project called Music Junction, run by London Chamber Orchestra (LCO) The project began by the children choosing an orchestral instrument that they wanted to play. They then went along to 6 rehearsals run by members of LCO where they were taught how to play the instrument alongside learning different parts from a brand-new work called The Exciting Marvellous Mars that had been specifically written for this project by Cheryl Frances-Hoad, one of Britain’s brightest compositional rising stars. This then culminated in an exciting concert where the children performed this work alongside LCO. Below are some pictures taken from the rehearsals and the concert.
