Harvest Festival 2018
The children in Year 5 read from the Bible and Reception children sang "What do we do at Harvest time?" beautifully. There were also some lovely harvest poems from years 1 and 2.
It was great to hear so many wonderful voices from KS1 singing one of our favourite Harvest songs, 'Cauliflower's Fluffy'. KS2 also sang a beautiful version of the Harvest song.
The children from St John's all attended a special service to celebrate Harvest Festival. This service was held at St John's Church.
Mrs Hester began by welcoming everybody and reading a special Harvest prayer and then the school banner was presented by some children in year 6.
Sing Up sang the first of their songs, "Conkers". The children had great fun passing the conkers along the line whilst singing.
Year 6 reminded us about where our food items were being donated to - Harrow Foodbank. They talked about the important work that the foodbank does to feed so many people. Sing Up also sang a song called 'In the Bin' which reminded everyone about how much food we often waste and throw out.
Children from years 3 and 4 read some prayers about harvest, reminding us to be thankful for all that we have.
Rev. Matthew Stone finished the service with a blessing.
During our last song we presented a small token of what the school had collected for Harrow Foodbank.
